Shaw Piano Studio was founded by Becky Shaw in 2009. Becky is a professional musician who has been "getting paid to play" since the age of 13, and has been teaching piano and music since graduating college with a degree in Music Theory and Composition.

 

After years of playing gigs, volunteering at Church, and teaching privately one-on-one, Becky has turned a new leaf and is refocusing her business to an online model to have a far greater reach around the world!

 

Through the years, Becky has come across countless people who regret quitting piano lessons as a kid, people who never got anything out of their lessons, or people who have always dreamed of playing the piano but who have not pursued that dream because they think it costs too much, or they don’t have time, or they think it’s too late to learn, and the list goes on!

 

After doing much research on the Internet on music software and other products available to “teach” people to play the piano, Becky has discovered that there are very few programs/products out there offering to develop the kind of “whole musicianship” that she wants for her students. She longs to bridge the gap between “music-reading musicians” and “by-ear musicians” by teaching people to play by ear AND by sight, all while encouraging and fostering creativity through things like improvisation and composition.

 

You’ll find that her approach to music is a fully-orbed one and she is in the process of developing an Online Piano Course that will do ALL of the things mentioned above!

 

Becky’s goal is to create well-rounded musicians who will love making music for the rest of their lives!
